Welcome from Our Chapter President

Lady Carolyn Culver, President

The members of the Prince George’s County Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction, Incorporated®, welcome you to the chapter’s website. Top Ladies of Distinction, Incorporated (TLOD) is a service organization that was chartered in the state of Texas on September 8, 1964. Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. has a mission “To enhance and enrich the lives of youth and adults through the implementation of community-based programs and projects.  We measure our success by the improved quality of life experienced by the people we serve.”   At no time in our history has this mission been more vital.

The Prince George’s County Chapter was chartered in August 2009 and currently is the largest chapter in the nation. Since its chartering, the Chapter has focused on serving the residents of Prince George’s County, Maryland. We balance local service programs with national initiatives to meet community needs; we will continue to rise to meet the challenges of the world.  Though we found ourselves having to conduct business in unique ways over the last two years, we will not let anything interrupt us from fulfilling our Program of Work.

Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. (TLOD), is a 501(c)3 organization, under the leadership of the National President and CEO, Lady Eddie Lee Marsh. TLOD declares that the purpose of this organization shall be to advance the standards, ideals, and general welfare of the community through service by encouraging, promoting, and extending activities that will be conducive to the betterment and ultimate welfare of people.  Top Ladies of Distinction have over 125 Chapters across the United States and currently with a membership of over 7,500 and approximately 3,500 Teens. The Mission of TLOD is to enhance and enrich the lives of youth and adults through national programs, projects, and partners.

The theme of our National  President and CEO  “Community of Service in Action” speaks to TLOD's rich history and solid foundation of rendering service.  As members of TLOD, we are provided an opportunity to address community needs within five major program areas - Community Beautification, Community Partnerships, Senior Citizens, Status of Women and our signature program, Top Teens of America where we purposefully impact our young citizens and help to shape our future leaders.

The Prince George’s County Chapter promotes and delivers local service programs through awareness, advocacy and action. Additionally, by partnering with other organizations and agencies, we can make changes, provide services, and uphold our motto of “Serving Youth and Adults”.

We hope that you explore our history as well as recent activities on this website and that you visit often to stay abreast of future events.  You are invited to join us at our service projects and workshops as well as community and fundraising events.
